Ana DMatos, Lugo - Spain, 1963.

Visual artist of a multidisciplinary work with a powerful social and political component. Her work is characterized by the origin of forms and a fascinated thought in anthropology and semiotics. DMatos analyzes the archetypes of power through a diversity of techniques such as drawing, collage, engraving, sculpture, photography, video, performance and installations.

Since 1986 she has worked in research at the Complutense University of Madrid, in Edinburgh and Sheffield. She has published in several specialized art magazines. She has taught courses and conferences: Fundación Hispano Cubana, Madrid; National Museum Reina Sofía Art Center, Madrid; Bilbao Arte Foundation, Bilbao; Thyssen Bornemisza Museum, Madrid; Provincial Museum of Lugo (...) and made more than thirty individual exhibitions and specific projects.
