As an investor, why is it a good idea to invest in Art?
Investing in art is already a safe investment since the art market has a lot less volatility in prices, which is what is called a "refuge value". The value of works of art is not so affected by uncertainty, it is an asset that ensures the value of the capital invested. And if you advise with a good professional not only ensure your investment while you enjoy the work but you multiply your money in the medium and long term.
Does the purchase of works of art deduct taxes?
If you pay a VAT when buying the artwork, of course you can deduct it. Likewise, the difference between the price paid and the sale price of a collection item can generate a gain on your equity or a loss that can be declared in the Income Tax. This tax also allows you to deduct 15% of the investments made in the purchase of assets of cultural interest of deceased authors, as well as the costs of conservation and restoration of these works. Normally to access this deduction (in the case of Spain and other countries) it is necessary to request it to the Ministry of Culture.
